101...Ideas

I was inspired by a magazine that a friend let me barrow (I will return it, I promise). The magazine held 101 affordable decorating
tips. I found a really cute hanging orginizer that I thought would help clean up the mountians of paper that pile up on our counters. I'd thought I'd be crafty and modify the pattern a bit. I'm thinking quick and easy...bingo! fabric glue! Right? Wrong? My glue plan failed. Ok plan B, sew it! Great idea, right? Right, if you have a sewing machine ,which I do not. So I got out my mending kit and started sewing. So far plan B is in process and is working (for now). I hope to post more once that final project is complete.

The Eyes of Texas ...I Mean the Ears

Our special dog, Texas, had been scratching his ears. Normally, I'd think "He's a dog, right? No problem!" After a week of nonstop scratching, he started to cry every time he would mess with it. I let it go for another week thinking that he's just being "Texas" and will get over it. As much as I love him and as many cool things he can do, he can be very stubborn and weird at times. One afternoon while shopping with a friend, I shared about this "issue" in our household. My friend use to work at as a vet-tech and suggested that I look inside his ears and see if there were any black spots. I looked and sure enough the inside of his ears were covered in black spots. My husband thought it was time to take him to the vet. I am thinking of all kinds of problems he might have, fleas, bugs, mites, worms... Once at the vet's, the doctor took a quick peak inside Texas' ears and said "He has allergies." A shot and 10 day prescription later, we were home. "That's it?" I thought "Allergies? I can deal with that!" Our dog has allergies. Texas is now doing much better. He no longer has any black spots (no pirate pun intended) and is successfully living with allergies.

Time for Fall

It's Fall time, one of my favorite times of the year. I love fall colors and how everything is apple or pumpkin flavored. Bacy home, the air got crip and cold and the leaves looked like drops of gold hanging from the trees. It' s time for farmers market, craft shows, and holiday open houses. Well things are a little different here. With all the rain we have been having everything is still green, but the rain has been an answer to prayer. This week I was able to experience a few fall activities, the county fair and the pumpkin patch. It was so nice. There were pumpkins everywhere! They were neatly sorted by size and style all over the lawn. It was decorated with hay and scarecrows. I miss a lot of the activities since I did not life here last year but so far I have enjoyed them and all the little festivals make me smile. The weather is cooler in fact down right cold and my husband even suggested some coffee tonight! Even though I miss the golden colors that bloom where I grew up, this year I am reminded its fall all over the country. It now our family's turn to start our own fall traditions.

A Night On the Town

One of the perks of this town is you don't have to drive too long to have a good time. It is so close to two big cities. A few weeks ago some friends
and us went to downtown San Antonio. We had dinner at this really cool place in the art district and walked the riverwalk. I love the riverwalk because there is always something to celebrate and it is such a cool atmosphere. This night we took a boat tour through the river. That is the best was to experience the riverwalk. The buildings and landscaping is breathtaking. Every way you look there is something interesting to look at. This was was no expecting as I got to sit next to Phil! After enjoying the riverwalk, we all walked till we spoted a Starbucks. We stopped in for something to drink and end up talking umong the comfy couches for a few hours. The coffee was good but the company was great!

Reality Based Training

Well we had our first "Reality Based Training (RBT)" last Friday. I was so nervous that i had trouble sleeping the night before! It ended up being a really cool experience seeing as I HAVE NEVER ARRESTED ANYONE...judging by the picture you can tell that has changed! haha! I will say that the whole experience has been really cool but very very tough. I have never studied so much in my life and have had to work for something as hard as i am. PLEASE keep praying for me and my amazing wife:)
